March 2025

Hello, Xavier Families!
As March has begun, we can only hope spring arrives soon and flowers start to bloom. Your students are just a day away from a much anticipated Spring Break after all the hard work they've put into the first half of the semester.
Advising season has begun this week and your students should be scheduling meetings with their academic advisors to prepare for the fall semester. We encourage your student to check for any holds regularly and to address them as soon as possible so they do not impact their ability to register.
All for One!

Residence Life News
Spring Break Reminders
- Residential areas will remain open for spring break. Students staying are asked to complete the spring break housing registration on Housing Self-Service. Hoff Dining will be closed over spring break and other dining and retail hours may vary.
- The summer housing application will open for students upon their return from spring break for those in need of housing over the summer.
- Looking further ahead, residential facilities will close at the end of the semester at 5 PM on Friday, May 9th. For graduating students, they will close at 10 AM on Sunday, May 18th. Review all of the important semester dates on the Res Life website at this link.
Game Day Advisory: Spring Break Parking Notice for Residential Students
As Spring Break begins on March 10, please be aware of important parking arrangements for March 8, when the Men's Basketball game tips off at 4PM. To ensure smooth operations and adequate parking for game day visitors, please note the following:
- Resident students leaving their vehicles on campus over Spring Break must move their vehicles to the R2 Lot on or before March 7
- Why is this important?
- Helps accommodate game day parking needs
- Ensures vehicles are in a centralized, secure location while you’re away
- Vehicles must remain in the R2 Lot during Spring Break and can be moved back to other R Lots before classes resume on March 15
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping game days running smoothly. Enjoy your Spring Break! Questions? Contact Auxiliary Services via email.
End of the Semester Reminders
- Residential facilities will close at the end of the semester on Friday, May 9 at 5 PM.
- Residential facilities will remain open for students who will be graduating until Sunday, May 18 at 10 AM.
- As a reminder, all non-food deliveries should be sent to the mail center on campus rather than to a specific building. There has been an increase in packages being delivered to the halls and all items must go to the mail center for proper pick-up by students. More information about sending and receiving packages can be found on our Mailing Services Center website.
Rising Sophomore Housing Information
The Rising Sophomore Housing Selection process is currently underway. Over 500 Rising Sophomores have completed their housing application for next year already. Please encourage your student to review all the information shared about the process, particularly upcoming deadlines and steps to complete. Additional information about the process can be found on our website.
Student Employment Information
Students who are interested in applying for Xavier student employee positions should be aware that openings are posted year-round in Handshake. However, the bulk of 2025 Spring, Summer, and/or Fall position openings will be posted starting now and continuing through mid-April. It is suggested that students check Handshake at least once a week for any new postings.
When a student is hired, they must complete onboarding (if they haven’t already worked in a Xavier position) which includes bringing to campus with them acceptable original documents for their I-9 Verification appointment. Documents must be original, no copies allowed. Most students bring either a passport OR a combination of a driver’s license AND a social security card. The newly hired student can’t start training or work in their position until they’ve completed this process.
Reach out to student employment at claryv@xavier.edu with any questions.
Summer Course Tuition Reduction
It is not too early to begin thinking about summer plans! Taking a summer course or two is a great opportunity for students to catch up or work ahead on their degree.
This year, Xavier's summer tuition will be 25% off the fall and spring per credit rate, or $750 per credit hour. The summer schedule is available for students to view now on Self-Service, and registration begins March 31. Courses are primarily online, and classes have one of three date ranges:
- May 12 to 23
- May 19 to June 27
- June 30 to August 8
Students are encouraged to talk with their academic advisor about summer options.
Reminder to File the 2025-2026 FAFSA Form

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid must be completed annually to qualify for federal, state, and certain types of Xavier aid – including grants, loans, and work-study. Visit studentaid.gov to complete the application today! Please email xufinaid@xavier.edu or call 513-745-3142 if you need assistance.
