Each year, the Week of Welcome (WoW) is a week of free activities and events (and food) that welcomes your Musketeer to Xavier for the new year. This year's week includes over 80 free events, beginning Sunday, August 18 and running through Tuesday, August 27. Some highlights from the week include the On-Campus Student Employment Fair, movie nights on the yard, soap-making with The Oakley Soap Company, goat yoga, open mic and karaoke performances, sand volleyball, bingo, trivia, trips off campus to go hiking, salsa dancing and exploring the Cincinnati Zoo.

We hope your student makes new friends, connects with others and celebrates the start of the new year with us through many of these great opportunities! The full week of events can be found online.

Club Day

The annual Club Day event is our campus activities fair, happening Wednesday, August 28th from 2-5 p.m. on the Xavier Yard. Over 2,000 attendees visit the event each year, which features many of our 150+ student organizations, as well as other offices and departments with opportunities for students to get engaged. This year's event also features free food from our partners at Snappy Tomato Pizza (the official pizza of the Xavier Musketeers), Skyline Chili (our official coney partner), Pepsi, Johnny's Creamy Whip, Kroger, Metro Bus and more! Tell your student to mark their calendar and explore what Xavier has to offer them at Club Day 2024.

Once Your Student Has Been Hired

In order to be eligible to start work in a campus position, they must complete new hire paperwork prior to starting their job. Most of it can be done remotely and uploaded electronically, however, the I-9 verification will need to be done in-person at the Student Employment Office via a scheduled appointment through Handshake. Students will need to bring original acceptable documents to campus with them for this appointment.

Students hired or who plan to be hired, should come to campus with the following:

  • Original ID to complete the In-Person I-9 Verification. View Complete List of Acceptable Documents (photocopies not allowed).
    • Most students bring either their original (NO copies):
      • a valid Passport OR
      • a combination of a valid Driver’s License AND a social security card.

For additional information or questions, encourage your student to contact Student Employment at 513-745-4880 or e-mail at claryv@xavier.edu.
