Hello, Xavier Families!

If you can believe it, summer is officially over—not that you would know that by the way the weather has been here lately. It has been so fun to see your students around campus again. It brings the life back into this place.

As the semester starts to pick up, I would expect that most of your students are starting to feel it. This can be overwhelming, so remind them to lean into the support they have here at Xavier.

We have some exciting things going on this month and I hope you and your students will take full advantage of it all!

All for one!

Student Success Center Changes

The Student Success Center is excited to announce that starting this fall all undergraduate students will have a success coach. This means each student will have the support of an academic advisor, career coach, financial aid counselor and success coach for all four years. We understand that students face different challenges throughout their college experience, and this change allows us to meet the needs of all our students.

The Student Success Center coaches and connects students to resources and collaborates with campus partners to ensure every student has the tools to reach their goals. We create space for students to ask for help, to make mistakes, and to figure out a plan to get back on track. Our support takes different forms, tailored to the individual student and includes things like time management, study skills and goal setting. Your student’s success coach will also share important information throughout the semester, so please encourage your student to regularly check their email.

If your student needs a reminder about who their success coach is, they can email success@xavier.edu for more information.

New 2024-2025 FAFSA Webpage

As many of you are aware, there are significant changes coming to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) starting with the upcoming application for 2024-2025. To help you better understand how these changes will impact the application process, and potentially impact your student’s financial aid award in future years, our Office of Student Financial Services has created a webpage dedicated to the 2024-2025 FAFSA updates.
