Incoming New Student
Incoming First-Year Student Housing Process
Before applying for housing, students must set up their Xavier technology account, which is separate from their Road to Xavier account. Our entire process is online through the Housing Self Service portal. The timeline for the process is below, and any changes in this timeline will be communicated through Road to Xavier. A full list of Frequently Asked Questions is listed below. Honors students intending to live in the Buenger Hall Honors community must be roommates with fellow Honors students. Your Xavier technology account, which is separate from your initial Road to Xavier log-in, will provide you access to all systems you will use as a Xavier student including your Xavier email, course registration and our Housing Self-Service site where the housing application resides. Deadline: No prescribed deadline though this action must be complete prior to any of the additional below steps. How To: When setting up your tech account, you will user your Xavier email address and initial password. Your initial password for your tech account consists of your 9-digit Student ID + Capitalized first letter of your birth month + 2-digit date. For example: If your Student ID was 000123456, and your birthday was July 19th, your initial password would be: 000123456J19. To set your own password, proceed to My Account (https://accountsetup.xavier.edu) and complete account setup by following these steps: Once you have set up your official Xavier password, you should use that new password when you log in to Road to Xavier and other Xavier systems, including the housing portal for completion of the housing application and accessing My College Roomie. Need Help with this Step: If you have difficulty contact roadtoxavier@xavier.edu or your Admission's Counselor. The application solidifies your intent to live on campus, including reviewing the housing agreement and collecting information such as your emergency contacts. The housing agreement is for the first two years. Opens: Tuesday, April 2nd Deadline: Tuesday, June 4th at 11:59 PM ET How To: After setting up your tech account: Helpful Instructions: Available at this link Need Help with this Step: Reach out to Residence Life at reslife@xavier.edu or 513-745-3203 (M-F, 9 AM-5 PM). The My College Roomie platform is the official channel to use in making your roommate pair. It works like a Facebook for roommates where you will make a profile, submit a questionnaire, receive suggested matches, add other students as friends and ultimately send an accepted friend a roommate request. Roommate pairing group size is limited to two people. Students who do not make a roommate pair by the deadline will by automatically paired by My College Roomie based on completed questionnaire data. Opens: Wednesday, May 1st Deadline: Wednesday, June 5th at 10 AM ET How To: Starting on May 1st, for all students who have completed their housing application, including parent/guardian verification if under 18, you will receive a welcome email from My College Roomie to your Xavier email. These messages will continue to be sent daily to students as they complete their application. After receiving this message: Helpful Instructions: Review the helpful video tutorials at this link. Need Help with this Step: Reach out to Residence Life at reslife@xavier.edu or 513-745-3203 (M-F, 9 AM-5 PM). The below groups of students will have their housing assignments made in advance of room selection days and will not need to select their own space: For all other roommate pairs, students will receive a randomized selection time via Xavier email prior to room selection, specifying their time to log in and select a room. Only one student in a roommate pair will need to log in and select for both students in the pair. Opens: At assigned selection time in mid-June Occurs: Monday, June 17th-Tuesday, June 18th How To: At your assigned room selection time: Helpful Instructions: Available at this link NOTE: Xavier will be closed on Wednesday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth

The housing selection process for new transfer students for the 2025-2026 academic year will begin in April 2025.
Transfer students will be asked to complete just the housing application available to them on our Housing Self Service web page.
Transfer students will then have their housing assignment made for them in mid to late summer into an available space. Assignment information will be communicated to a student's Xavier email.
Incoming Exchange Student Housing Process
The incoming exchange student process takes place early summer for Fall Housing and in late winter for Spring Housing. Our entire process is online through our Housing Self Service portal. As exchange students do not have access to Road to Xavier, all information for the housing process is communicated through e-mail.
Once you have applied, our office will assign you to any available space on campus using the preferences you submitted at time of applying as a guide. We are unable to guarantee that students will receive one of their preferred housing locations.
