Rising Sophomore Student Housing Process

This housing selection process will be for students in their first year at Xavier to select housing for the 2025-2026 academic year. This includes:

  • Students who started at Xavier in Fall 2024 as first years
  • Students who started at Xavier in Fall 2024 as new transfer students
  • Students who started at Xavier in Spring 2025

New Housing Application Software

In order to streamline the application process, students who are participating in the Rising Sophomore Housing Application no longer need to submit application through Housing Self-Service.

Students will log into MyHousing using their Xavier Single Sign On (SSO) consisting of their Xavier email address and password. Please be sure to submit the housing application through MyHousing portal below.

Introducing MyHousing at Xavier University!

In order to streamline the application process, students who are participating in the Rising Sophomore Housing Application no longer need to submit application through Housing Self-Service. Please be sure to submit your application following steps listed below to secure your spot!

  1. Log into the MyHousing site starting on January 28th, use your Xavier Single Sign On (SSO) which is where you will complete the housing application

  2. On the application, you will:

    1. Answer living preference questions
    2. Update your emergency contact and address information
    3. Indicate hall preferences
    4. Review the housing contact and sign your student ID (000XXXXXX)
  3. Application Opens: Tuesday, January 28th 
  4. Application Deadline: Tuesday, February 25th at 12:00 PM ET (Noon)
  1. Students have the option to form a roommate group or to participate as an individual during the application process.
  2. Roommate Formation Opens: Tuesday, January 28th 
  3. Roommate Formation Closes: Tuesday, February 25th at 12:00 PM ET (Noon)

*Please note that we are no longer using My College Roommie for roommate formation purposes; all housing-related processes will be managed through MyHousing*

  1. For Justice Hall & University Apartments:
    1. Full groups selected to live in Justice Hall 6 and 8 suites will be randomly preassigned.
    2. Full groups of 3 selected to live in University Apartments will be randomly preassigned based on availability.
  2. All other students and groups will receive a randomly generated selection time.
  3. During the assigned time, or later, any student from the roommate group can log in to MyHousing to select the room.

All messages regarding the Rising Sophomore Housing Selection process will be sent only to students' Xavier email addresses. Students are encouraged to share this message with any family or supporters who will be helping guide them.
