What are Blob Bucks?

Blob Bucks are an incentive system being implemented by the Office of Residence Life as a means of encouraging and motivating residents to engage with Residence Life and Student Affairs programming.

How do I earn Blob Bucks?

Earning Blob Bucks is simple: the more engaged you are with Residence Life programs, the more Blob Bucks you earn. Some programs and activities will let you earn more Blob Bucks than others based on your level of engagement. We have provided a guide to how you can earn Blob Bucks below:

  • 5 Blob Bucks: Engage with an RA's bulletin board or monthly informational handouts. Not every bulletin board or handout will offer opportunities to earn Blob Bucks, so be on the lookout for a Blob Bucks badge (see below).
  • 10 Blob Bucks: Attend an event hosted by the Office of Student Involvement with an RA as part of their monthly community building activities. Your RAs will communicate to your community when these opportunities are happening.
  • 20 Blob Bucks: Attend an RA program on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. DOUBLE your earned Blob Bucks by completing a brief survey and reflection before you leave the program!
  • 50 Blob Bucks: Attend an RA program on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday. DOUBLE your earned Blob Bucks by completing a brief survey and reflection before you leave the program!

How will I know when I can earn Blob Bucks?

Flyers posted in your community and posts to social media about upcoming RA and Residence Life programming will feature badges that indicate an activity or event is one where you can earn Blob Bucks and how many you can earn. Just look for these badges:

What can Blob Bucks be redeemed for?

In the spring, Residence Life will host a silent auction where Blob Bucks can be used to bid on a variety of prizes, including gift card packages, zoo memberships, tickets to Reds games, FC Cincinnati matches, and personal electronics like noise-canceling headphones.
