Stacia Galey, OTD, OTR/L is the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Teaching Professor in the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. Dr. Galey earned her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Xavier University and her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Chatham University. She has specialty certification in sensory integration and has worked in outpatient pediatrics, school systems, home health, and geriatric day facilities prior to transitioning into academia. Dr. Galey serves on the state board for the Ohio Occupational Therapy Association as the Regulations Chair, member of the American Occupational Therapy Association Academic Leadership Council, and is Co-President of the Ohio Occupational Therapy Academic Fieldwork Coordinator Consortium. She is actively engaged in supporting fieldwork educators and students through experiential learning in the community, providing an international Level I fieldwork for all graduate students in the OTD program at Xavier University. Her research interests include student personal and professional growth during international fieldwork and service learning, cultural humility, and assisting AOTA in researching fieldwork education on the Advancement in Capstone and Fieldwork Research Ad Hoc Committee.
