Overview

The Weeping Cherry Tree is a small deciduous tree that can grow around 8 to 15 feet in height. Like its name, the branches of the Weeping Cherry Tree display a weeping motion as they cascade towards the ground. The green leaves of the Weeping Cherry Tree are oval and serrated and change color to a golden yellow during the fall. In Spring, the flowers bloom for three weeks into a snow white color. The Weeping Cherry produces small red-black inedible fruit that can be seen during Summer.

Cultivation

The Weeping Cherry thrives in full sun within moist, well-drained loamy soil. It can be pruned to control the length of the branches or change the shape of the tree.

Biodiversity Sustained

The flowers attract pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Thanks to its fruit, the Weeping Cherry provides food to birds.
