Sustainable Dining

D'Artagnan's Dishes' program helps with sustainability and saving students money

Since 2015, Xavier University has been committed to advancing sustainability initiatives, particularly within its dining facilities. A key component of this mission is the implementation of the "D'artagnan's Dishes" program, which began this year. Through this program, students are provided with the opportunity to borrow reusable plates, cups, and bowls at the start of the school year, with the expectation that these items will be returned at the end of the year. This initiative aims to significantly reduce the reliance on single-use paper and plastic kitchenware.

In conjunction with the D'artagnan's Dishes program, there is also mobile application designed to facilitate the borrowing and returning of reusable to-go boxes. Students can easily scan a code on the box and return it within a three-day window, further supporting the university's commitment to sustainability by minimizing single-use waste.
