FAMILY WEEKEND CHECK-IN / ON-SITE REGISTRATION

2:00 PM - 6:00 PM | Arrupe Overlook, First Floor, Gallagher Student Center 

Please stop by the Gallagher Student Center to pick up your Family Weekend registration materials or register your family if you did not pre-register online. Your Xavier student or a member of your family must check-in during the hours of operation to receive your registration materials.  If you are pre-registered and one of the first 1500 families in line for check-in you will receive a Family Weekend fleece blanket and tote as a memento.

*Please note that on-site registration will be cashless, we will only accept credit cards.

6:00 AM - 9:00 PM | Health United Building, Fitness Center

You and your family have FREE admission to the recreation center with your Family Weekend wristband! Check out our facility, we would love to have you join us! You must provide a state-issued ID and sign a liability waiver to utilize the facility. Facility access is reserved for those 18 and older only. There will also be representatives from Recreational Sports available to share information about the fitness center and show families around!

CHILI COOKOFF

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM | Husman Stage, Xavier Yard 

Kick off your Family Weekend with a taste of Cincinnati. Come try out city's staple dish - Chili! Bring the whole crew by to sample the secret recipes of XU faculty and staff and vote for your favorite!

PHYSICS AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENTAL COOKOUT

Casual departmental cookout for families to meet faculty and staff of the Physics and Engineering Department. Come and enjoy grilled food, snacks and refreshments!

COMMUNITY ENGAGED RESEARCH PRESENTATIONS 

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM | Surkamp, Alumni Center 

Students and faculty who worked together on community engaged research projects during Summer 2024 will present their research process and findings for families and the campus community.

Join us prior to Musketeer Madness to meet other Xavier families and learn more about Xavier's two signature parent volunteer programs - The Parent Leadership Council and Xavier Ambassadors! MUSKETEER MADNESS

Musketeer Madness is the tip-off for fans as the Men's and Women's basketball teams gear up for the 2024-2025 season. This season's X-Shirt will be unveiled and available for purchase. The event will include a fan giveaway, team introductions, and blue and white scrimmages from both basketball teams. Musketeer Madness is a Family Weekend tradition and fan favorite! Doors open at 6pm

XAVIER THEATRE PRESENTS "JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR" *

7:30 PM - 9:30 PM | Gallagher Student Center Theater

Xavier Theatre is excited to present Jesus Christ Superstar lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Weber. What's the buzz? Jesus Christ Superstar has wowed audiences for over 50 years. Set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known series of events, but seen, unusually through the eyes of Judas Isariot. Jesus Christ Superstar follows the last week of Jesus Christ's life and is loosely based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

3RD ANNUAL SONGWRITERS CELEBRATION WITH JESS LAMB*

8:00 PM - 9:30 PM | Center for Innovation (across the street from Smith Hall)

The Songwriters Celebration is a dynamic musical showcase of Xavier's talented student singers/songwriters. Hosted by Cincinnati's acclaimed diva Jess Lamb and accompanied by her world-famous band, the celebration has become an annual highlight for friends and family!

Please note this is an extra cost for Family Weekend. Tickets are $15 at the door.

BRUNCH 

8:00 AM - 2:00 PM | Hoff Dining Commons, Justice Hall

Come and enjoy a full-service brunch at the Hoff Dining Commons including all your brunch favorites. Guests will enjoy made-to-order omelets, delicious breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruit and yogurt, a full carving station, as well as make your own X waffle and more! Dining on campus never tasted so good! Brunch is included in your registration fee.

COMMUNITY ACTION DAY

9:00 AM - 2:00 PM | Various Locations 

Community Action Day is Xavier's largest day of service and reflection! Our motto is "All for 52," serving the neighborhoods of Cincinnati and beyond. Every semester, the XU community gathers to serve various communities and nonprofits ranging from painting, repair, stocking, accompaniment, landscaping and whatever the occasion may call for. Service might be in or outdoors, depending on the community's needs. Breakfast and lunch are included. Reflection is integral. Dress appropriately for the weather and service day. Your needs and abilities are taken into account. Please let us know if you have concerns regarding ability and if you will be accompanying minors. Placement is done at arrival, during the morning of the service. Simply register and we will be excited to greet at 9am on October 19! PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT

We welcome PPP students and their families for a light breakfast (coffee and pastries), an update on the program from faculty, and some sample classes taught by program faculty. 

FUN FAMILY FITNESS

10:00 AM - 11:30 AM | Balance Studio, Health United Building 

Students and their families are invited to join EXSC and SWEAT for some fun fitness and time together! The session will be led by student and alumni fitness instructors and consist of three 20-minute sections: exercise dance, circuit training and Pilates. All activities will be modifiable for everyone, all ages and abilities, to participate. Post-workout treats will be provided!

Come and see Xavier Singers perform some of your favorite songs, blending singing and dancing in what promises to be an engaging and entertaining performance. All the songs are student choreographed and accompanied by Singers’ own student band.

Get a sneak peek at some of the on-campus housing options so you are ready to make your next housing selection! Residence Life will be offering tours of The Commons Apartments and Justice Hall. Tours will commence at the front entrance of The Commons and the Justice entrance near Smith Hall.

Stop by the Family Fall Fest, hosted by the Office of Student Involvement on the Xavier Yard. Weather permitting, we invite you to join us for corn hole, putt-putt, giant jenga, caramel apples, inflatables for all ages, and much more! OT Minute to Win It - Faculty and occupational therapy graduate students will host a "Minute to Win It" booth at Family Fall Fest. Fun, creative, and fast-paced games for family members of all ages and abilities.  Prizes will be awarded. 

Alumni & Parent Relations Xavier Fund Table - Come meet with the Alumni and Parent Relations Team and see how you can help with the Xavier Fund.

More Career-  Stop by the Career Development (CDO) table at Fall Fest to learn more about the CDO and Professional Mentor Program that connects current Xavier students with industry professionals.  

Xavier Expeditions: Be Inspired, Be the Change -  For 15 years Dr. Leon Chartrand, Founding Director of Xavier Expeditions, has taken students from every major on 73 adventures to remote, far-away places. Visit with Dr. Leon and alumni and learn about our adventures to Antarctica, Arctic Alaska, Greenland's Polar Icecap, Central Africa and Southwest Africa.

BLINK CINCINNATI SHUTTLES 

7:00 PM - 11:15 PM | Outside Currito 

The Office of Student Involvement will be running shuttles to BLINK Cincinnati. There will be 5 buses running a continuous loop from Xavier Currito to TQL Stadium in downtown Cincinnati. The first bus will load a Currito at 7pm and the last bus of the evening will pick up at 11:15pm at TQL Stadium in downtown Cincinnati. Buses should be running about every 15 minutes depending on traffic. Check out the BLINK website here for more details!

The Xavier University Choral Showcase will feature selections from our choral groups on campus ranging from classical to contemporary a capella.
