Doctoral Capstone

Doctoral Capstone Creates Opportunities for Students and Practitioners

The Doctoral Capstone is a student-driven 16-week project completed after coursework and Level II fieldwork. It's an excellent opportunity for students to refine their skills in leadership, advocacy, education, research, and policy development. And it's the perfect time for you to tackle that project you've been putting off!

Why Does This Matter to You?

The capstone is more than just a project; it’s a transformative experience that shapes the next generation of professionals. Students gain hands-on experience by tackling real-world challenges, setting them up for career success and advancing our profession in traditional and non-traditional settings. ⏰ Think You Don’t Have Time to Take on a Student? Think Again! ⏰

We get it—your schedule is packed, and adding a student to the mix might seem like another commitment you just can’t manage. But here’s the game-changer: Capstone students are mentored, not supervised. This means less time on your part, with the student focused on completing a project that you’ve been putting off for years. You’ll provide guidance and insight as they develop their leadership, research, and problem-solving skills.

Why not take advantage of this opportunity?

It’s a win-win: You get your project completed, and the student gains valuable experience. You’ll be amazed at how much they can accomplish with just a little direction from you!
