Power Outage

In the event of a power outage, many campus facilities are equipped with emergency generators to power critical operations. Most buildings are provided with emergency lighting to aid in the safe evacuation of the building. To report a localized outage, contact Physical Plant at 3151 (campus phone) or 513-745-3151 from a cell phone. After normal business hours, contact the Xavier Police Dispatcher by dialing 2000 from a campus phone or 513-745-2000 from a cell phone.

 

Be Prepared

• Keep a flashlight with spare batteries accessible.
• Do not use candles or other open flames for lighting.
• Know the location of the closest exit.

Procedure

• Follow directions from the Xavier Police Department.
• If building evacuation becomes necessary, seek out persons with special needs and provide assistance if possible. If additional assistance is necessary, contact the Office of Campus Safety at ext. 2000 (campus phone) or 513-745-2000 from a cell phone.
