Special Education Licensure
Undergraduate degree/licensure program
In the Bachelor of Science degree/licensure program, undergraduate students complete the requirements for both licensure¹ as an intervention specialist and the Bachelor of Science degree concurrently.
Intervention Specialist licensure areas
- Mild/Moderate (undergraduate advising materials)
- Moderate/Intensive (undergraduate advising materials)
- Early Childhood (undergraduate advising materials)
- Double Major Early Childhood Special Education/Montessori (undergraduate advising materials)
Master of Education degree/licensure program
In the Master of Education degree/licensure program, graduate students complete the requirements for both licensure¹ or endorsement² as an intervention specialist and the Master of Education degree concurrently.
Graduate non-degree licensure program
In the non-degree graduate licensure program, a student will complete components for licensure¹ or endorsement² as an intervention specialist.
Master of Education degree program (non licensure)
In a Master of Education degree program which does not include the requirements for licensure, a student will complete a 30-credit hour program that consists of a 9-credit hour core and a 21-credit hour concentration in Special Education. A written comprehensive exam or research paper presentation is also required.
