Internal Master of Health Services Administration Scholarships
The funding sources below are offered only to admitted full-time MHSA students and MHSA/MBA Dual Degree students. Applications--when required--will be sent to eligible admitted students and have deadlines which may vary year-to-year. Deadlines listed below are for the Fall 2024 entry term.
MHSA/MBA Dual Degree students will qualify for both MHSA & MBA scholarships.
Executive MHSA students typically utilize employee benefits or other types of benefits (e.g. GI Bill) which can often completely cover the cost of the program.

FULL-TIME MHSA SCHOLARSHIP GUARANTEE
FALL 2025
All incoming Fall 2025 full-time MHSA students an initial funding offer of at least $8,000 and an application for a Supplemental Scholarship with their acceptance. Additional scholarship opportunities are available to MHSA students as they progress into the second and third years of the program.

LOYAL MUSKETEER SCHOLARSHIP - Benefit for Xavier Graduates
The Loyal Musketeer Scholarship is available to all graduating students and alumni who wish to pursue a graduate degree at Xavier. The scholarship is equal to 25 percent off the program tuition rate for most graduate programs. All Xavier alumni who enroll in a graduate degree program at Xavier are eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship applies to graduate degree-seeking students for both part-time and full-time enrollment, with a minimum of 6 credit-hours per semester.

SUPPLEMENTAL SCHOLARSHIPS
MHSA Leadership Scholarship
Up to $9,000 is awarded annually to MHSA students who excel academically, show strong evidence of leadership and community service, and/or demonstrate a commitment to addressing health disparities. Applications are sent to admitted full-time MHSA students shortly after the release of their acceptance letter. Deadlines are provided when scholarship application is sent.
MHSA Endowed Scholarships
The following scholarship established by loyal supporters of the MHSA graduate program provide partial support to qualifying students in the graduate program in health services administration. The program's scholarships provide partial, not full, assistance. They may be awarded to outstanding candidates in each entering class, as well as to the top students in each class usually in the early Spring semester of the first year. The number and amount vary annually. Funds are generally used as part of the initial scholarship offer that all admitted students receive.
- Audrey Custer Alonso Scholarship: Established by a personal estate.
- Clemente Entrepreneurial MHSA Scholarship. Established by Class of 1980 alumnus, Bob Clemente.
- Edward J. Arlinghaus, Ph.D. Scholarship: Established in memory of a past program director.
- Galvin Scholarship: Established from a personal estate.
- L. H. Gunter Scholarship: Established by members of the Veterans Administration Health Care System.
- Helen Hennigan Diehl and Thomas J. Klinedinst Scholarship: Established by St. Francis Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Harry J. Hocks Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Harry J. Hocks.
- Charles E. Housley Scholarship: Established from a personal estate.
- Foster G. McGaw Scholarship: Established by the Association for University Program in Health Administration (AUPHA).
- Glen T. Randolph Scholarship: Established from a personal estate.
- Sister Nancy Linenkugel Scholarship for Health Services Administration: Established by Mr. Philip G. Laufer
- Mary Claire Shaunnessey Memorial Scholarship: Established from the George P. Shaunnessey estate in memory of their daughter.
- David Stiefler and Sherri Lee Stiefler Memorial Scholarship: Established by the Stiefler estate in memory of the husband and daughter.
- Bocklet Family Scholarship established by Albert A. Bocklet, PhD, MHSA Program Faculty 1974-1998.
GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS
When available, graduate assistantships (GA) are awarded to assist professors with research and to assist the administrative staff with variety of undertakings. These assistantships may include tuition remission and an hourly rate for work as determined by the University. GA applications are typically opened in March and October each year. Eligible students will be informed of new GA postings as they are available.
