Fr. Thomas Kennealy, S.J.

Thomas Kennealy is a Jesuit priest living in retirement in the Cincinnati Jesuit Residence. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Fr. Kennealy entered the Society of Jesus in 1949, and was ordained a priest in June 1962. In the fall of 1969, he joined the faculty of Xavier University in Cincinnati as a teacher of French in the Department of Modern Languages. In 1974, he was appointed Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, a position he held for thirty-two years until 2006. He served as Xavier's archivist and historian at University Library until 2019 when he retired.
On September 22, 2021, during the celebration of his book publication and his 90th Birthday (September 19), the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences presented Fr. Tom with Professor Emeritus status.
