Reflection Questions
In what ways do I believe a religiously pluralistic campus community enriches the student learning experience at Xavier?
Muslim chaplain Salih Yucel stated that, "The goal of interfaith dialogue and collaboration between different peoples is to explore new dynamics that will benefit all humanity."
How have I explored 'new dynamics' with people different from myself? To what benefit?
It has been said that Pope Francis' core signature phrase is "culture of encounter." In this context, he reasons that "If we are genuinely attentive in listening to others, we will learn to look at the world with different eyes and come to appreciate the richness of human experience as manifested in different cultures and traditions. We will also learn to appreciate more fully the important values inspired by Christianity."
What important values might I more fully appreciate if I listen more closely to others different than myself?
