Xavier University is a designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense for the Concentration in Cybersecurity.
The concentration is an interdisciplinary effort of the Departments of Computer Science (CSCI) and Business Analytics and Information Systems (BAIS). The program provides the fundamentals of cybersecurity and the hardware, systems, and compliance levels.
PROGRAM LEVEL OUTCOMES
PLO1 - Fundamentals. Students will demonstrate an understanding of cyber defense, threats, and security design principles, including analyzing systems to explain design principles needed and violated, and the actions that can be taken to exploit and defend the system.
PLO 2: Application. Students will demonstrate an ability to use and create tools for monitoring, exploiting, and defending systems.
PLO 3 - Communication. Students will demonstrate an ability to clearly communicate cybersecurity information, including legal issues, the analysis of a system, severity of security flaws, and prioritized recommendations.
