Students Earn Honor Society Recognition

On Friday, April 21, 2023, 19 new members were inducted into Xavier’s chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association’s official honor society. The society was originally founded in 1985 at the University of Arkansas, and has grown to include more than 500 active chapters at four-year colleges and universities nationwide. The Alpha Gamma Zeta Chapter was chartered at Xavier in 2015.
Lambda Pi Eta recognizes students who are in good standing and have earned a minimum GPA of 3.25 specifically through communication courses, while maintaining an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher upon completion of 60 hours of college credit. The honor society promotes six goals focused on recognizing scholastic achievement, advancing the field of communication, and encouraging professional development and networking.
The April ceremony was led by faculty advisor Dr. Randy Patnode, and the 2022-2023 officers: Mary Leydon, senior advertising and public relations major; and Christine Resca, senior public relations and communication studies major.
The 2023 inductees include:

- Justin Clever, senior, digital media and advertising major;

- Robbie Dzierzanowski, junior, public relations and communication studies major;
- Izzy Fooks-Michyna, junior, public relations and communication studies major;
- Alessandra Clavel-Hernandez, junior, public relations major
- Emilie Ivy, junior, public relations and communication studies major;
- Alexa Kreuzer, junior, digital innovation, film & television major
- Kara Lynch, junior, digital innovation, film & television major
- Lauryn McAllister, junior, digital innovation, film & television major
- Maddie McGarry, senior, public relations major;
- Paige Snyder, senior, communication studies major;
- Joey Sybert, senior, digital media major;
- Ian Tierney, junior, advertising major;
