Misha Balkowiec
Chief Executive Officer and Energy Sector Analyst
Misha is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the fund. He is a senior majoring in Finance and also works as an analyst in the Energy Sector. Misha has held other school leadership positions by serving a full year as student senator. He currently works at Merrill Lynch and has been there since the Spring of his junior year. Misha recently passed level one of the CFA exam.
Jake Forrester
Chief Financial Officer and Healthcare Sector Analyst
Jake is a senior Finance major that is set to graduate in the spring of 2014. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the D'Artagnan Capital Fund. Jake is from Cincinnati, Ohio and attended Colerain High School. Jake is a catcher and outfielder on the Xavier University Baseball team. Furthermore, Jake has held other leadership position as he served as a member on the Student Athlete Advisory Committe.
Matt Shields
Chief Investment Officer and Energy Sector Analyst
Matt is the Chief Investment Officer and Industrials analyst for the Fund, and a Finance major from Dallas, Texas. He is set to graduate in May of 2014, and will continue with Xavier to get his MBA. He has had internships with Enterprise Financial Group, Thomson Reuters, and is currently working in the Fifth Third TradingCenter on Xavier?s campus.
Alex Albers
Co-Chief Economist and Financial Sector Analyst
Alex Albers is a Senior Finance major, Economics minor. He currently is the Fund?s Co-Chief Economist and Financial Sector Analyst. He is from Columbus, Indiana. He is a two-year veteran of the Xavier Orientation team. Over the past summer he was an intern at Cincinnati Financial Corporation. Outside of the fields of Finance and Economics, he enjoys running, biking, swimming, and philosophy. Upon graduation in May, he plans on doing a mini-marathon, triathlon, and marathon all before the end of the summer.
Becky Gallagher
Co-Chief Economist and Industrials and Materials Sector Analyst
Becky is a Senior Finance major from West Chester, OH. She is currently the
Co-Chief Economist for the D?Artagnan Capital Fund. Becky is also the Co-President
of the Financial Management Association as well as Co-President of Mortar Board at
Xavier University. In her free time, Becky enjoys running, spinning class, and reading
economic and investing books. After graduation, Becky wants to pursue a career in
investing and be an equities analyst.
Ben Lynch
Co-Controller and Consumer Staples Sector Analyst
Ben Lynch is a senior finance major from Cincinnati, Ohio. He will graduate from Xavier University in May of 2014, and he is Co-Controller for the D'Artagnan Capital Fund. Ben currently works as an intern for the Fifth Third Trading Center Internship Program.
Jake Lackner
Co-Controller and IT & Telecom Sector Analyst
Jake is a senior finance major from Cincinnati. He is currently an analyst in the IT/Telecommunications sector and Co-Controller. He has over 3 years of full- commissioned sales experience, with over $225,000 in sales in first full year. Interned at Voter Gravity, a voter analytics technology company, where he collected sales leads and tested software mobile software. He is very interested in current events, and enjoys working out, reading and sports.
Paul Heintzman
Competitions and External Relations Director and IT & Telecom Sector Analyst
Paul is a Senior Marketing & Finance Double Major from Louisville, KY. He is an analyst in the IT and Telecom sector. Paul is the campus manager for University Tees, a custom apparel and promotional company. He also works as a student supervisor at the Xavier Phonathon. At Xavier, he is on the board for the weekly service organization XChange, a member of Don?t Tell Anna (Xavier?s remier improve troupe), and has been a Manresa Orientation Leader for the past three years. In his free time, he enjoys hanging with friends and being active outside Paul?s career aspirations include starting his own Consulting Firm headquartered in Louisville, KY
Adam Dietz
Director of Public Relations and Consumer Discretionary Sector Analyst
Adam Dietz is a Senior Finance and Information Systems double major from Florence, KY. He interned at Fidelity Investments in the Stock Plan Services Department over the past summer and is currently an Intern at the Fifth Third Trading Center. He is Director of Public Relations and an analyst in the Consumer discretionary sector. He is also Co-President of the Financial Management Association.
Robert Kelly
Cheif Compliance Officer and Consumer Discretionary Sector Analyst
Robert is a Senior Finance major from Farmington Hills, MI. He is currently Chief Compliance Officer and an analyst in the Consumer Discretionary sector. This past summer he interned at Messer Construction as a Finance and Accounting Co-op. Robert is current President of Gentlemen Organized for Achievement & Leadership and in the past has held positions with Student Government. In his free time, Robert enjoys spending time with family, meeting new people, playing soccer, and traveling.
Patrick Brennan
IT & Telecom Sector Manager
Patrick Brennan is a Senior Finance Major from Burnsville, MN. In the equity fund, he is the IT/Telecom sector manager. Last summer through the fall he interned at American Modern Insurance Group as a product analyst. He is also involved with the Xavier Men's Club Lacrosse team, where he held the position of Treasurer.
Jake Donovan
Consumer Discretionary Sector Manager
Jake is a Senior Finance major from Boston, Massachusetts. He is the manager of the Consumer Discretionary sector. Jake currently interns with FTB Financial Services, a financial management group within UBS Financial Services. Jake is also a Student Supervisor at the Xavier University Annual Fund Phonathon, and the Treasurer for Unified for Uganda, a non-profit organization. In his free time, Jake spends as much time as possible with his friends and family, and also enjoys playing golf and soccer. His careers aspiration is to become a wealth management advisor in Boston, and eventually teach a personal finance course at his high school.
Jess Hunter
Energy and Utilities Sector Manager
Jess is a senior Finance major from Mount Pleasant, Michigan. He will graduate from Xavier in May of 2014. Jess is the manager of the energy and utilities sector. He enjoys playing golf and basketball. Upon graduation, he plans to work in real estate development or investment valuation.
Darnell Miller
Healthcare Sector Manager
Darnell is a Senior Finance major from Ypsilanti, MI. Darnell is currently the Healthcare Sector Manager. While working in the D'Artagnan Capital Fund, Darnell hopes to glean more knowledge about investment portfolio management and capital markets analysis. Darnell is also a Community Engaged Fellow at Xavier. He currently serves as the Student Board Representative for the Intercommunity Justice and Peace Center. In his leisure, Darnell enjoys spending time with friendds and family, writing haiku poems, and traveling. After graduation Darnell will start full time in Fifth Third Bancorp's Commercial Associate Leadership Program.
Robert Pinkalla
Industrials and Materials Sector Manager
Robert is a senior finance major from Milwaukee, WI, and set to graduate in December, 2014. He currently is the Industrials and Materials sector manager. Robert has previous internship experience with a small investment firm in Milwaukee and after graduation hopes to pursue a career in financial advising. He also is a huge sports fan and enjoys playing soccer in his free time.
Jack Sullivan
Consumer Staples Sector Manager
Jack Sullivan is a senior Finance major from Hingham, MA and the manager of the Consumer Staples Sector. This past summer, he interned with John Hancock Financial Services on the controller?s team for the US Annuities division. On campus, Jack also serves as a Resident Assistant and this year is on the Apartments staff. After college Jack hopes to continue to analyze investment opportunities and help people and communities manage their risk and finances, while preparing for disasters. In his free time, Jack likes to spend time outdoors relaxing, sailing on the water, and spending time with family and friends.
Ken Walter
Financial Sector Manager
Ken is a senior double major in Finance and Sport Management from Bayonne, NJ, currently managing the Financials sector. He also serves as the Vice-President of the Men?s Club Volleyball team, which finished T-5th in the nation last year. When not busy with school or sports, he likes to spend his time relaxing while watching the Food and Game Show networks.
Daniel Wolff
Chief Executive Officer & IT/Telecom Sector Manager
Daniel Wolff is the current Chief Executive Officer of the D'Artagnan Capital Fund and co-manager of the IT/Telecom sector. He is a Senior Finance major from Dayton, OH and is set to graduate in Spring of 2015. Daniel is currently the Social Research Analyst Intern at Legg Mason Investment Counsel and has prior internship experience at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He is also active as the President of Club Golf at Xavier and the assistant golf coach at Sacred Heart Elementary School in Cincinnati. Upon graduation, Daniel hopes to pursue a career in investments as either a portfolio manager or equity research analyst.
Dustin Isop

Dustin is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the D?Artagnan Capital Fund and Financials Sector manger. He is a finance major, from Westchester County, New York, set to graduate in December 2014. He has had two financial internships, one with Merrill Lynch, and another with The Fifth Third Trading Center. He plans on pursuing a career in equity analysis or investment strategy.
Nathan O'Brien
Chief Investment Officer & IT/Telecom Sector Co-manager
Nate is a senior Finance major with a focus in investments, managing over $2.25 Million of Xavier?s endowment fund through his role as chief investment officer of the D?Artagnan Capital Fund. From Chicago, he enjoys being outside and volunteering his time to lead orientations and retreats, as well as regularly teaching finance skills to underprivileged youth in the Cincinnati area. Nate also has experience in the wealth management industry and is well versed in financial software like Bloomberg and Capital IQ.
Eric Osswald
Chief Risk Officer & Consumer Staples Manager
Eric is a Senior Finance Major Graduating in December of 2014. He is the Consumer Staples Manager and Risk Manager for the Fund. Eric is from Columbus, Ohio and attended Olentangy Liberty High School. Eric is the goalkeeper and captain of the Xavier University Soccer Team and was recognized as an Academic All-American by the NSCAA in High School. He was also named to the 2013 All-Big East Academic Team.
Jose Alonso
Chief Economist & Energy/Utilities Sector Manager
Jose Alonso is a Senior International Studies major, concentrating in International Business, and an Art minor from Los Angeles, CA. Jose is the chief economist and manager of the energy and utilities sector, and he is currently the publicity photographer for Xavier University. Upon graduation, he hopes to pursue a career in journalism or as a foreign affairs analyst.
Ian Kerr
Controller & Industrials/Materials Sector Manager
Ian Kerr is a senior Finance major from Cincinnati, Ohio. He is currently the D?Artagnan Capital Fund?s Controller and Industrials and Materials Sector manager. Ian recently passed the Series 7 exam and will be looking to begin his career as a personal financial advisor upon graduation in December. Outside the world of finance, Ian coaches soccer at his alma mater, St. Xavier High School.
Maximillian Poe
Chief Compliane Officer & Consumer Discretionary Sector Manager
Max is a senior Finance major from Findlay, Ohio. He is currently the Chief Compliance Officer and the Consumer Discretionary Sector Manager. This past summer he interned at Edward Jones investments as a Financial Advisor Intern. Max is also the Treasurer of the Xavier Ice Hockey Team, managing an operating budget of $80,000+. In his free time he enjoys playing hockey and spending time with family and friends.
Stefan Modic

Stefan Modic is a senior Finance and Information Systems major from Cleveland, Ohio. He is currently the Director of Public Relations and Healthcare Sector manager. Stefan is currently working as an intern for the Fifth Third Trading Center teaching classes in financial software to students and faculty. In his free time Stefan enjoys running, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering. Upon graduation, he hopes to pursue a career in equity research or healthcare consulting.
