Timeline
The comprehensive evaluation includes four elements:
- Student Opinion Survey (November 2-11, 2020)
- Assurance Review (closing date for documentation: March 15, 2021)
- Federal Compliance Review (closing date for documentation: March 15, 2021)
- On-site Peer Review Visit (April 12-13, 2021)
Xavier has engaged in robust campus engagement since 2018 to prepare for the comprehensive evaluation.
In addition, Xavier held a voluntary rehearsal peer review visit on October 13, 2020 with two trained and experienced HLC peer reviewers.

2020-2021
University Goals include:
Successfully complete the HLC comprehensive evaluation to affirm our accreditation.
Outcomes:- Engage campus in Comprehensive Evaluation

2019-2020
University Goals include:
Successfully prepare for Spring 2021 HLC site visit; leverage preparatory process to seed deliberate campus conversations on the future of the University.
Outcomes:
- Complete campus review of a robust draft of the Assurance Argument and Federal Compliance report
- Over the course of 2019-2020, the HLC Reaccreditation Steering Committee and its subcommittee members gathered evidence and drafted the Assurance Argument. A robust draft was shared with the campus community between March 30-April 17, 2020.
- Develop list of “gaps” and work through appropriate channels to address the gaps
- Communicate and gather feedback from University constituents
- Assist with future planning by helping to leverage preparatory process
2018-2019
Outcomes:
- Identify Steering Committee co-chairs and members
- Launch collection of evidence
