Faculty Research Mentor Award Nominations
The Undergraduate Research Advisory Board invites nominations for the annual Xavier Faculty Research Mentor of the Year award. This award will be given to a faculty member who has demonstrated an excellent track record of mentorship while supervising undergraduate research.
In nominating faculty, the broadest definition of research and creative activity is encouraged. The winner of the award will be selected by the Undergraduate Research Advisory Board from a pool of nominated faculty.
The major criterion for the award is excellent mentoring of undergraduate research which might include but is not limited to:
- Supervision of multiple research experiences for short periods or a single research experience over several years.
- Sustained mentorship of students as they explore their vocations.
- Co-authored publication of research articles with undergraduates.
- Chaperoning of undergraduate presentations of research or creative activities at local, regional and/or national meetings.
The deadline to submit nominations for the 2025 Award is Monday, April 7th.
