Spring 2025 Audition Information


Announcing AUDITIONS for Xavier Theatre’s Spring productions of PIPPIN and SUMMER SLAY-CATION!!

PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW!

DATES
Auditions will take place OCTOBER 25, 2024 – OCTOBER 28, 2024. 

For PIPPIN:

  • Audition Dates:
    Audition Requirements and Format:
    1. Vocal Audition:
      • Perform 32 bars or a 1:15-1:30 cut from a pop, rock, or musical theatre song.
      • The song should showcase your personality and vocal range.
      • You MUST provide your own track
    2. Dance Call:
      • Choreography and a significant improv section involving movement and improv games
    3. Callbacks:
      • Involve sides and specific music selections to match the characters.
    4. Character Descriptions:
      • Ensemble: the club kids, punks, and hipsters of the underground nightlife scene, a focus on dance-heavy performances. All named characters will also be part of the ensemble.
      • Pippin: Any gender. A singer/songwriter type, earnest and heartfelt, someone who could easily be found busking in a club
      • Leading Player: Any gender. Cunning, mischievous, and street-smart. Think of an Artful Dodger type who navigates the chaos of the scene with ease and charm.
      • Frustrata: Female. A washed-up lounge singer who’s a local fixture but never hit the big time.
      • Charlemagne: Male. A country or classic rock vibe, exudes masculine bravado.
      • Berthe: Any gender. Potentially a drag performer, someone who embodies the spirit of a ballroom mother, full of wisdom and flair.
      • Catherine: Female. That girl at karaoke who pretends not to care but secretly knows she can blow the roof off with her voice.

For SUMMER SLAY-CATION

  • Auditions will take place on Sunday, October 27 and Monday, October 28. DETAILS WILL BE RELEASED SHORTLY.

 OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:

  • All Xavier Theatre majors must audition for ALL shows. Non-majors can choose to audition for the show(s) of their choosing.
