Our Purpose. Our Vision. Our Mission.
XAVIER THEATRE'S PURPOSE STATEMENT
Xavier Theatre mentors and challenges students to become collaborative, empathetic, inclusive, inquisitive and creative citizens of the greater world.
XAVIER THEATRE'S VISION STATEMENT
Creating a more compassionate, collaborative and empathetic world through theatre.
XAVIER THEATRE'S MISSION STATEMENT
The practice of theatre is an authentic, self-giving and vulnerable effort of rediscovering what it means to learn and to be human. The students, faculty and professionals who make up the Xavier Theatre program work tirelessly to create an arena of collaboration, empathy, communication, adaptability, community and practice, where we can ultimately learn and find our individual artistic voices, not only in the theatrical moment, but within a community living lives both for and with others.
Practical opportunities, professional collaborations and a students-first mentality are the central pillars of the Xavier Theatre program, offering training to all students that is inclusive, individualized, experiential and industry-standard. We strive each day to create the fostering environment that allows us as artists and people to explore, fail, succeed and celebrate together, working for a more inclusive and sustainable future. In short, we will always look to Do Cool Stuff That Matters.
Xavier Theatre was built on three FOUNDATIONAL PILLARS
Professional Collaborations
Students work with professionals every week, either in the classroom, through workshops or productions.
Practical Opportunities
Our students work. We offer a diverse production season of up to eight productions each year. Our students have plenty of opportunities to hone their craft, both on and off stage, every semester.
Students-First
Our faculty, staff and guest artists care about our students, and take the time to get to know them individually. We play to student strengths, while also helping them hone the areas in which they need to get better. We work hard to help students become their best as a theatre artist and person!
