Distinguished Professor's Scholarship
The Distinguished Physics Professors Scholarship, which began in 2000, honors the significant contributions of former physics professors John Hart, Ray Miller, and Terry Toepker to Xavier University and its students. The scholarship, awarded annually in the spring semester, is presented to the physics, biophysics, applied physics or engineering physics major(s) deemed most worthy of the award by the full time physics faculty. The actual monetary value of the award may change annually, and will be cleared through the Office of Student Financial Services. This amount may be used for any university expenses.
The recipient must have:
- achieved an outstanding academic record - particularly physics grades
- demonstrated exceptional intellectual curiosity
- shown creativity in areas related to physics
- demonstrated the capability for significant accomplishment in the field of physics
- completed at least two academic years of study (at least one year at Xavier)
