Carson Rayhill is a first-generation student from Indiana who says money was tight when he was growing up due to his parents’ divorce. They were scared, wondering how they were going to pay for college. But thanks to scholarships from Annual Fund donations, Carson came to Xavier, where he’s thrived, serving in the Smith Scholars Honors cohort, volunteering as treasurer for Xavier Students For Life and participating in the German Club and Voices of Solidarity.

"It was my dream to go to Xavier, and scholarships are what made that dream possible. Xavier has been all I imagined and more. The community that I’ve been a part of is so supportive. I can’t thank our Xavier family enough for the opportunity to be a Musketeer. Xavier has truly changed my life, and without your help, coming to Xavier wouldn’t have even been a possibility. The Xavier community is so generous, and because of your generosity, I’ve been able to grow in mind, body, and spirit. Your help may sometimes go unnoticed, but believe me when I say that it gave me an opportunity and a pathway to my future, something that I could never thank you enough for.”
