Conway Faculty Lunches
How Ignatian Principles Can Conquer the Tyranny of the Urgent:
Using the Examen, Discernment, and Reflection to Achieve Balance in the Life of a Faculty Member
Wednesday, March 2, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, CLC 308
Lunch is provided
Faculty members across the academy are being held accountable for increasing numbers of activities and responsibilities. Be it larger classes, higher teaching loads, heightened research expectations, increasing service burdens, student recruitment, grant-writing responsibilities, community expectations, etc., the life of a faculty member has changed significantly. Increasingly, the mantra is "do more with less." Faculty burnout is on the rise. Join Dr. David Burns and Dr. Gillian Ahlgren for a lunch roundtable discussion. We will explore what Ignatian principles offer to combat the tyranny of the urgent and how to bring balance into the lives of faculty members.
Co-sponsored by the Conway Institute for Jesuit Education and the Center for Teaching Excellence.
