Michael Kuremsky
Teaching Professor, Marketing
Michael joined in Fall 2017 as an Adjunct Professor. His interests and expertise are in consumer-oriented marketing, brand strategy, equity, and new product innovation. His passion is teaching and helping undergraduate upperclassmen prepare to graduate and enter the workforce ready to hit the ground running.
When he joined Xavier, he developed and introduced a new course, Brand Building, teaching the fundamentals of brand strategy built from the frameworks he utilized in his 23-year career as a brand marketer and business leader at Procter & Gamble. The hallmark of the course is the new Beverage Brand Shark Tank, where student teams develop new beverage brands from scratch, including consumer target, brand positioning and differentiation, the brand's story, pricing, and distribution. Teams partner with graphic design students from the Xavier design department to develop logos, visual identity, and packaging, all culminating in a live Shark Tank pitch to marketers from Procter & Gamble and other marketing professionals.
As of Fall 2021, Michael joined the faculty full-time as a Visiting Professor. In addition to Brand Building, he teaches the Brand Building Practicum and the Marketing Capstone class for seniors. Both courses offer students practical, real-world consulting projects with client businesses with rich exposure to marketing professionals.
Michael's classes also feature a significant focus on lively class discussion.
In addition to his role at Xavier, Michael continues to consult as a Brand Strategist for clients across many consumer-facing industries, including beauty, food and beverage, household goods, and home appliances.
