Sweden is a hopeful and progressive place to study environmental issues and policies.

* has the highest percentage of renewable energy of all EU nations
* has low waste production--only four percent of their waste ends up in landfills
* has clean water--tap water is drinkable and you can swim in the capital, Stockholm
* ranks first in EU in consumption of organic foods
