Health Insurance Requirements
In accordance to U.S. Federal regulations, and in compliance with University policy, all international students holding an F-1 or J-1 student visa are required to enroll in Xavier University's Student Health Insurance Plan. Because the United States does not operate on a socialized medical scale, this plan provides essential health coverage for students during their time at Xavier.
Please note the following:
- International students will be automatically enrolled and billed for the Xavier University Student Health Insurance Plan through their Xavier account.
- Students who are employed in the United States and receive health insurance through their company, or students with a spouse/parent who holds insurance through a US employer, or students who are sponsored by a government scholarship that already includes health insurance, may request to waive out of the Xavier University Student Health Insurance Plan.
- No international health insurance policies or travel insurance will be accepted in lieu of the Xavier University Student Health Insurance Plan.
