The Office of Institutional Diversity & Inclusion (OIDI) is excited to announce our inaugural Ignatian BelongingSymposium! This event is dedicated to fostering a sense of unity and belonging by exploring and embracing the values ofinclusivity, diversity, equity, accessibility, and social justice (I.D.E.A.S.).
Ignatian Belonging Week of Celebration is a time set aside to re-center ourselves around inclusivity, diversity, equity, accessibility and social justice. It’s a time for the Xavier community to learn and celebrate all the diverse identities and experiences that make up our institution. We invite Xavier community members, including students, faculty members, and staff to consider this opportunity to share projects, research, and/or presentations.
After this week of events, we hope people leave with:
A renewed sense of their own worth and how that ties into the fabric of Xavier University and the Ignatian Jesuit values of Greater Belonging.
A practical process of how they too can use their knowledge and skills to add to the diverse experiences in their own community.
An idea of what Ignatian Belonging is about and how we all fit into the larger conversation around inclusivity, diversity, equity, accessibility and social justice (IDEAS).
Let’s celebrate our differences, learn from each other, and work towards a community where everyone feels valued, respected, and heard.
