Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University who wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to persons in need. As a public service and community oriented organization, Delta Sigma Theta is committed to effectively and passionately meeting the needs of the African American community. The Rho Xi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. was chartered on the campus of Xavier University on April 12, 1992 by 10 dynamic women.
