Gamification
A well-designed course-based game, like good pedagogy, motivates students to engage with course material, provides opportunities for individually-paced mastery of skills and concepts, promotes collaboration and facilitates low-risk competition among students. Further, games can orient learning to real-world applications. In this FLC, members will explore principles of gaming through studying and playing games (!) and will experiment with ways to incorporate game-based learning into their courses through individual projects.
