Madness

This week embodied what I love about the start of springtime on Xavier's campus.

Energy. Surprise. Change. Exuberance.

Unexpected sunshine followed by rain, warm weather by cold.

A smiling T-shirt giveaway popped up. Something called a "selfie station" sprouted in the Gallagher Student Center, with balloon "16s" signifying something other than a teenage birthday. (Wait, was I supposed to be IN that selfie?)

This week, our men's basketball team invited us to interrupt our plans to join together and celebrate our shared identity as members of the Xavier community.

I welcome the unanticipated, joyous disruption that these days can bring. Madness, some call it.
