Remote Employer Resources
CAREER DEVELOPMENT IS COMMITTED TO CONNECTING EMPLOYERS WITH XAVIER TALENT AS YOU RECRUIT AND HIRE IN A VIRTUAL SPACE.
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted recruiting and hiring in many ways. The Employer Relations team within the Career Development Office understands that employers have varying abilities to recruit in-person. We're ready to help you maximize your recruiting in whatever mode is right for you and your organization. You have positions to fill and we have students and recent grads actively seeking opportunities. This page is intended to serve as a resource for employers on how to effectively engage with Xavier students virtually.
As always, we welcome you to reach out to the Employer Relations team for personalized assistance at employer@xavier.edu
RECRUITING STUDENTS VIRTUALLY
Employers are invited to host virtual information sessions to share about your organization and available internships and jobs. In addition to posting opportunities on Handshake, employers can manage virtual or in-person interview schedules via the platform. Please see the resources below to get started.

VIRTUAL CAREER FAIRS
Xavier University is offering both in-person and virtual career fairs during the 2021-22 academic year. Virtual career fairs allow organization representatives to communicate via text and video chat with students and alumni about available internships, jobs, graduate programs, and post-graduate service opportunities. Options include 30-minute group meetings or 10-minute one-on-ones with candidates scheduling to meet with you in advance of the event and on the day of the fair. Check our list of career fairs for more information and to register.

MICRO-INTERNSHIPS
Micro-internships are short-term professional assignments similar to those given to new hires or interns. These projects allow students to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build their network as they seek the right full-time role. Typically ranging from 5-40 hours of work, these experiences provide opportunities for current students to gain skills and experience and recent alumni to bridge the gap between graduation and their first post-Xavier role. Employers are encouraged to post their micro-internship opportunities in one of the two ways:
- Xavier has partnered with Parker-Dewey for micro-internships and we encourage you to post through this site. To ensure you connect with Xavier students and alumni, be sure to search by school when reviewing applicants.
- Micro-internships may also be posted via Handshake just as you would post a job or internship. Please note "Micro-Internship" as the job title.
- Please see the Handshake – How to Post a Job resource and video for posting help.
