Biology Department

Sara Baltz

Senior Teaching Professor, Biology

Sara is a full-time laboratory instructor and currently teaches non-majors biology, general biology, anatomy and physiology, microbiology and other biology-based subjects as needed. Sara received her bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Cincinnati in 2006 and 2010, respectively. Her graduate research focused on locomotor speed of white-footed mice in a semi-arboreal environment and the direction they may choose when being pursued by a predator. During that time she also obtained a secondary education licensure in life science, which reignited her passion for teaching. She believes everyone is a scientist; it's just a matter of honing skills. Her personal interests include making art (painting, drawing, sculpting, etc.), spending time outdoors, hiking, camping, kayaking, and enjoying leisure time at home with her husband, Ryan.
