CLEP Testing

College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams are intended for adult learners who believe they have acquired knowledge through life experiences which would enable them to possibly test out of undergraduate courses. Students who have taken CLEP examinations may apply for college credit for this work. Xavier grants credit in a number of disciplines depending on the student's score on the appropriate CLEP examination.  Students must arrange to have official test scores sent to Xavier University.  Xavier's school code is 1965.

Military and Professional Training

Students who have completed training courses through the armed forces or other professional training programs may be eligible to receive college credit for courses completed.

The Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experience in the Armed Services, published by the American Council on Education, is used to determine what credit might be granted for military training.

For courses completed through business and professional organizations, the National Guide to Education Credit for Training Programs, published by the American Council on Education, is used to determine what credit might be granted.

To request credit for military or other professional training, students must submit transcripts or certificates of completion to the Office of Admission.

Ohio Peace Office Training Academy (OPOTA)

Students who have completed the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) can receive 24 credit hours of transfer credit. A copy of the OPOTA certificate must be submitted to the Admissions office for the transfer credit to be awarded.
