Biography

Welcome to Xavier! My name is Lauren Parcell and I'm the Dean of Admission at Xavier University. As I entered college I had NO IDEA what I wanted to major in. I eventually chose Marketing as a major, but I found my calling by getting involved in student life. I was part of student government and the student activities council, and loved it so much I decided I never wanted to leave college. Next, I completed a graduate degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration and have worked at Xavier ever since!

Favorite thing about Xavier
Ask anyone at Xavier and they will tell you that the community is what makes it special. And that’s true! My joke answer is the cookies, which is also true! Campus itself is also incredibly special and full of little out-of-the-way spots for quiet contemplation as well as bustling areas perfect for hanging out with friends. Personally, I think campus is most beautiful in the spring.

Best advice for seniors who are making their college decision
Don’t let this process overwhelm you. We are here to help. This decision is yours to make, and it doesn't matter what your friends are doing. You WILL find a school that fits you and feels like a place you could call home for 4 years (hint: it’s Xavier). Believe it or not, this can be a fun and exciting time in your life, and you have nothing but a bright future ahead of you.
