AP, IB, A-Level and CLEP Credit
At Xavier, we encourage students to take a demanding curriculum through high school. If you have taken AP, IB or A-Level courses and examinations, or earned CLEP credit, you can find information below on how that credit may transfer to Xavier.
Xavier Advanced Placement Credit
Students who have successfully completed Advanced Placement courses and have taken the appropriate AP examinations may apply for college credit for this work. Xavier grants credit in a number of disciplines depending on the student's score on the appropriate AP examination. Students must arrange to have official test scores sent to Xavier University. Xavier's school code is 1965.
Xavier International Baccalaureate Credit
Students who have successfully completed International Baccalaureate courses and have taken the appropriate Higher Level Examinations may apply for college credit for this work. Xavier grants credit in a number of disciplines on an individual basis for the grades of 5, 6 and 7 earned in the I.B. Higher Level Examinations. Students must arrange to have official test scores sent to Xavier University. Xavier's school code is 1965.
Xavier A-Level (Advanced Level) Credit
Students who have successfully completed national or international A-level (Advanced Level) courses may apply for college credit for this work. Xavier will review for credit in several disciplines on an individual basis for passing grades in Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), Pearson/Edexcel, Oxford AQA, or the main examination boards in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Xavier will also review official CAPE results and other national advanced level coursework on a case-by-case basis. Students must arrange to have official test scores sent to Xavier University either through the online portal option (if available through the examination board), by mail, or via email to internationaladmit@xavier.edu.
Xavier College Level Examination Program Credit
College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams are intended for adult learners who believe they have acquired knowledge through life experiences which would enable them to possibly test out of undergraduate courses. Students who have taken CLEP examinations may apply for college credit for this work. Xavier grants credit in a number of disciplines depending on the student's score on the appropriate CLEP examination. Students must arrange to have official test scores sent to Xavier University. Xavier's school code is 1965.
