Dr. O'neil Van Horn

Dr. O'neil Van Horn is Assistant Professor of Theology. He holds a PhD in Philosophical and Theological Studies from Drew University and specializes in constructive theology, critical theory, and environmental justice. In his courses, Dr. Van Horn encourages students to explore the intersections between theology and social justice concerns such as mass incarceration, environmental racism, and neoliberal capitalism. Dr. Van Horn has published articles and book chapters on issues such as hope amid the Anthropocene, Hip Hop and biblical interpretation, and environmental philosophy. He recently published the book, On the Ground: Terrestrial Theopoetics and Planetary Politics, with Fordham University Press in 2023.
