Flipgrid
NOTE: Flipgrid will be deprecated by Microsoft in September 2024. It is recommended to use an alternative tool before Flip goes away.
Flipgrid is a video recording and sharing application that can be used to present content and facilitate asynchronous video conversations.
Flipgrid has multiple features for creating and sharing the video. Allowing students to edit or record a presentation in multiple clips using only their web browser is perhaps the biggest differentiation between Flipgrid and other assessment options. You will be able to use Flipgrid to:
- Create graded assignments associated with the Canvas Gradebook
- Create low-stakes or ungraded prompts not associated with Canvas
- Create webcam-only recordings or screen recordings (currently in beta), including a virtual whiteboard from the web browser or mobile app
- Upload recorded videos
- Edit and decorate videos with text, stickers, and emoji
