Virtual Programs
There are a variety of virtual international education opportunities for student to continue to engage with courses or experiential learning abroad. Although this not an exhaustive list, here are a few opportunities in which students can explore.
SPRING TERM | COURSES
Online Courses Available at Universidad Antonio Ruiz de Montoya (UARM) in Lima, Peru
Participate in an academic course exchange through our partnership with UARM in Lima, Peru. Students are able to take one virtual course offered at UARM. Contact Dr. Ceo-DiFrancesco (ceo-difr@xavier.edu) in the Department of Classics and Modern Languages to discuss course options. When a Xavier student studies through a course at UARM, a Peruvian student is able to join a course at Xavier.
SUMMER TERM | INTERNSHIPS
USAC Virtual Internship Program
USAC Virtual Internships are composed of two distinct, yet interrelated components, an online internship seminar and internship hours completed remotely online with a placement site abroad in a given career field. The Virtual Internship Program (seminar + placement) is worth 3 semester credits.
During this 3-credit internship, you can conduct work in a number of popular career fields including:
- Digital marketing and social media management
- Business
- Event planning
- Electrical/Control Engineering
- Translation
- Social welfare/Social services
- English language instruction
- Journalism
- Research/Grant-Writing
- Health/Wellness
- Computer science
- Graphic design/3-D modeling
Applications are still being accepted on a rolling placement basis. Apply no later than April 15th.
UMN Virtual Internship Program
The Virtual International Internship is a four-credit internship opportunity. It’s critical to learn to adapt, acclimate, discover new ways to contribute, and be productive working remotely. Virtual internships combined with the internship course give you an opportunity to learn and develop valuable skills.
