Semester in Peru
Developing Global Skills in a Multi-Ethnic Context
This semester long experience will broaden student’s perspective of language, culture, and societal structures through language immersion, integrated classes, homestays, visits to social NGOs, and cultural excursions. Universidad Antonio Ruiz de Montoya (UARM), a fellow Jesuit university, is known as one of the most multiculturally integrated universities in Peru. Its location in the country’s capital, Lima, provides students the opportunity to experience, reflect, and engage in cultural, economic, and social diversity.

Jueves Cultural is similar to International Coffee Hour, but includes more activities and opportunities to engage with the various cultures of Peru.
Excursions: students will have the opportunity to be outside the classroom during their courses and have the opportunity to take weekend trips together. Additionally, the program will visit Macchu Picchu/Cuzco (included in program fee) and the Amazon jungle (optional activity, not included in program fee).

As with our other semester programs, students will be billed their Xavier tuition for their semester abroad. In addition to tuition, students will owe $4,500 as a program fee. This program fee includes the following: host family housing and 2 meals a day, all academic and cultural visits, day excursions, and trip to Cuzco and Macchu Picchu.
Tuition and program fee does not include the airfare to and from Peru, visit to the Amazon jungle, optional cultural activities, and daily lunch.
