Academic Community Champions
A key factor in the retention and success of our students is helping them see themselves as members of our community -- that they matter and belong here at Xavier.
We know our faculty and staff already welcome students and we would like to amplify those efforts with our first year students.
We would like to support your efforts to connect with small groups of undergraduate 1st year students, particularly in the crucial first 8 weeks of the semester. These could be activities you were already planning and can now include more students or new ideas that help build connections. We think it would be great if part of connecting with the students would also help them connect with the city of Cincinnati.
We can work with you to pay for tickets, reimburse costs of eating out, the costs to make dinner at your home, and other expenses that are part of your activity that connects the first year students with each other, with you, with other students. (We cannot pay for alcohol, of course, per University policy.)
You can reach out to us for the funding by using this form. We'll follow up with you to make sure we handle receipts and purchases appropriately. We can provide up to $325 per event; if you think you will need more, please explain in your request.
