Undergraduate Degree/Licensure Program
In the Bachelor of Science degree/licensure program, undergraduate students complete the requirements for both licensure¹ as an intervention specialist and the Bachelor of Science degree concurrently.

Master of Education degree/licensure program
In the Master of Education degree/licensure program, graduate students complete the requirements for both licensure¹ or endorsement² as an intervention specialist and the Master of Education degree concurrently.
Graduate non-degree licensure program
In the non-degree graduate licensure program, a student will complete components for licensure¹ or endorsement² as an intervention specialist.
Master of Education degree program (non licensure)
In a Master of Education degree program which does not include the requirements for licensure, a student will complete a 30-credit hour program that consists of a 9-credit hour core and a 21-credit hour concentration in Special Education. A written comprehensive exam or research paper presentation is also required.

Choosing Between Master of Education & Master of Science
The Department of Special Education offers degree programs approved by the Ohio Board of Regents and licensure programs approved by the Ohio Department of Education.
All programs are accredited by CAEP - Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.
In Special Education, the department awards a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in a special education licensure area.
