Citizen's Police Academy
Xavier Police Department invites all community members to participate in our Spring '24 Citizen's Police Academy. Classes will be held weekly (Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.), beginning January 18 through April 18, except March 7 (Spring Break). Refreshments will be served at 6:00 p.m., except during off-site tours. Participants will meet in the Flynn Hall lobby. Classes will take place in the Flynn Hall Large Conference Room.

- Week 1 (1/18/24) - Welcome and Introduction / History of Policing
- Week 2 (1/25/24) - Police Standards & Academy / Tools of the Trade
- Week 3 (2/1/24) - Search and Seizure / Communications
- Week 4 (2/8/24) - Off-site tour: Hamilton County Coroner's office
- Week 5 (2/15/24) - Off-site tour: Hamilton County Detention Facility
- Week 6 (2/22/24) - Off-site tour: Hamilton County Prosecutor's office
- Week 7 (2/29/24) - Patrol
- Week 8 (3/14/24) - Crime Scene Investigation / Evidence Collection / Property Room Management
- Week 9 (3/21/24) - Use of Force / Defensive Tactics
- Week 10 (3/28/24) - DUI / Arrests
- Week 11 (4/4/24) - Drugs
- Week 12 (4/11/24) - K-9 / Traffic Stops
- Week 13 (4/18/24) - MILO / Graduation
