The Psychology Diversity Advisory Committee's Mission Statement
In support of the School of Psychology's diversity vision, PSY-DAC's subcommittee efforts include the following:- Program Belongingness & Inclusion Subcommittee: Increase involvement and dissemination of information regarding Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonginess (DEIB) in the School of Psychology (SoP) as well as evaluate and ensure a sense of community amongst students and faculty.
- Campus Education & Outreach Subcommittee: Act as a resource to promote and disseminate DEIB information amongst the SoP as well as lead campus-wide awareness initiatives.
- Advocacy & Community Outreach Subcommittee: Serve in an advocacy role in the form of making DEIB-related recommendations to the SoP as well as lead community outreach and volunteering efforts consistent with Xavier University's value of service.
The Psychology Diversity Advisory Committee (PSY-DAC) includes students, staff, and faculty from the School of Psychology. In 2023-2024, the committee included 15 graduate students and three faculty members.
The PSY-DAC is guided by the values and mission of the School of Psychology, The College of Professional Sciences, and the University's Center for Mission and Identity, and the University's Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion.
We support the Values and Diversity Vision of Xavier University including its focus on values like Reflection, Solidarity, Kinship, Service Rooted in Justice and Love, and Cura Personalis as well as the goals to promote Campus Climate and Interground Relations, Access and Success, and Education and Scholarship.

The College of Professional Sciences is committed to building collaborative spaces for an ever-changing population through a free exchange of diverse ideas and thought. In that CPS is Magis-in-Service, we are people representing various forms of human diversity and densities meeting the needs of people and organizations in our community and beyond. Our many cura personalis disciplines within the college provided faculty and students the ability to address all forms of social injustice, inequity, and discrimination. CPS is committed to providing an atmosphere for learning that respects diversity, including various forms of identity, and fosters inclusion, and in which all students feel comfortable and safe to learn. It is within this interdependent community where all stakeholders can prepare and implement action plans for social justice.
