Xavier, AAA Corporate Travel, send alumni to BIG EAST tournament

Taylor Schultheis (’13) had just come back home from Los Angeles when she received a call from an unusual number.
 
The number registered to Xavier, her alma mater.
 
“I was a little worried because Xavier doesn’t call me often,” Schultheis said.
 
Schultheis had been working remotely from home, so she was unable to answer the call. When she called the number back, Schultheis spoke with Xavier Executive Director for Alumni and Parent Relations Shannon Cassidy-Cox (’00, ’04 MEd) who had some exciting news to share.
 
Cassidy-Cox informed Schultheis that she was the winner of Xavier’s Meet X in NYC giveaway, sponsored by AAA Corporate Travel. Schultheis won airfare and hotel accommodations for two to New York City, along with tickets to see Xavier compete in the BIG EAST tournament at Madison Square Garden.
 
“I was speechless and super excited,” Schultheis said. “I couldn’t believe it.”
 
The Meet X in NYC giveaway began during the inaugural Musketeer Bash in Fall 2022 as a way of encouraging Xavier alumni to come together and celebrate all things Xavier, Cassidy-Cox said.  
 
Schultheis and her husband, Jermaine Coburn (’13), entered to win while attended a game watch party at the Filson for the Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout.
 
Schultheis said she and her husband have been following Xavier Men’s Basketball closely this year and they are excited to see the team play in New York City. The trip will mark Schultheis’ first time to Madison Square Garden, and she hopes to see the Musketeers make a deep run this year, both in the BIG EAST and the NCAA tournament.
 
“I think we have a great team this year,” Schultheis said. “Hopefully everyone can get healthy and stay healthy. I’m confident that we’re going to make a run and I’m super excited to cheer on the Muskees.”
