Sep 30, 2022
Xavier University ranked as one of the nation's top institutions for undergraduate education in the 2023 edition of The Princeton Review’s nationally recognized college guide, "The Best 388 Colleges,” marking the University’s 19th-consecutive appearance on the list.
The Princeton Review surveyed about 160,000 students to compile this year’s guide, which does not rank the schools hierarchically, from 1 to 388.
While the list does not include an overall ranking, Xavier excelled in several category rankings. Notably, the University’s Williams College of Business ranked 10th nationally in the category “Most Family-Friendly" business schools. Additionally, The Princeton Review recognized Xavier for having one of the top online MBA programs in the U.S. The University ranked 50th nationally and was one of only two Ohio schools recognized in the category.
Xavier’s renowned athletics programs earned the University another premier honor, as the Musketeers ranked 10th in the U.S. for “Students Love Their School Teams,” a category based on student assessments of the popularity of intercollegiate sports at their schools.
“Our selection of the colleges in this book is based on our opinion of their academic offerings,” said Rob Franek, lead author of “The Best 388 Colleges” and editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review. “We recommend each one as an academically outstanding choice for an applicant. Our ranking lists, however, are not based on our opinions of the colleges. They’re entirely based on what the schools’ own students have told us about their experiences at them.”
The publication contained direct student commentary about Xavier, including how the University “prides itself on being a small community driven by Jesuit ideals” while making students “feel comfortable in every aspect over their four years.” The guide also described Xavier as an institution at which “study abroad, field work, and internship opportunities are plentiful, and many students also volunteer on campus, which brings to the school ‘an amazing atmosphere for any student regardless of...age, religion, or culture.’”
