Xavier Next caters to students who are passionate about a specific career, not just a major.
The Xavier Next program is designed for students who know, very clearly, what profession they intend to pursue after graduation and want as much experience in that field as possible. Driven by experiential learning, Next offers students a broad array of opportunities related to a specific career. These co-curricular activities are designed to expand beyond that which can be offered in traditional courses.
PROGRAM TRACKS
The Next program is not department specific, rather, it is career-specific. Tracks are developed based on the careers most in demand by students and the market.
Tracks are open to students from any major across the university. Accepted Next applicants choose a track at the time of entering the program.
Participants in the Next program will be offered the following benefits:
- Exposure to career-specific learning experiences via guest speakers, conferences, field trips, workshops, study abroad, etc.
- Exclusive experiential learning opportunities that help them become highly competitive job candidates who are beyond ready for their first day at work
- Networking with professionals related to the career or industry they intend to pursue
- Opportunities to compete regionally and nationally in job skill-related competitions
Recognizing that this type of immersion may lead to a realization that this is not a career they want to pursue, students are allowed to leave the program and re-apply for a new track at any time.
