Paul has designed 50+ Playhouse productions, among them: The Crucible, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Romeo and Juliet, The Wizard of Oz, K2, Glass Menagerie, Equus, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Treasure Island, A Little Night Music, Of Mice and Men, Mister Roberts, Wit, Proof, Speaking in Tongues, Sleuth, Over the Tavern, Double Indemnity; Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike, and most recently, Summerland. Many of these productions were co-staged at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. Paul was co-founder of CCM’s Theater Design and Production program and Opera Theatre-Music Festival of Lucca (Italy). For CCM, he's designed 150+ operas, musicals, and plays, and is Professor Emeritus. He’s also designed 50+ operas and ballets for Cincinnati's Opera, May Festival, Pops, and Ballet, New York City Opera, Philadelphia Opera, and many others. He’s been an active theatre designer and consultant for U.S. and foreign projects and cruise ships, most recently in Abu Dhabi, Sochi, Russia and Seoul, Korea. As an architectural and landscape designer, recent projects are in Carmel, Atherton, and Big Sur, CA and nearby Indiana. He’s also an active writer, poet, and playwright and member of the Dramatists Guild. Paul and his graphic designer/water colorist wife Marcia, live in Cincinnati and Carmel. They have two daughters and three grandchildren – all wonderful.
